What's Giclée?!

Well, i
t's sort of French for 'nozzle' for a start and for seconds it's a very nice way of printing things and my good friends at Lazy Gramophone have very kindly added a set of my illustrations to there catalogue of available A6 Art Cards.

You can see for youself HERE
or you can click the image on right.

.....

..... and while we're at it you can also pick up an A4 Giclée print of 'Jetty' exclusively with a 4 other works from Lazy Gramophone artists HERE.
_Anyway, there you go, why not get yourself a few Nozzle prints for Crimbo.

CALM 11/20/2011

Ok then, so for the last few weeks I've been working with the lovely people  at CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) a charity which amongst other things is working to reduce suicide rates in young men (the biggest killer of men between 16 and 35). This here's the first edition of their new FREE magazine 'CALMzine' which you should be able to find in TOPMAN stores around the country (as well as other places perhaps?). Anyway,  I done the cover there and they've kindly mentioned me a bit inside too.

You can now click the image on the left for the full web version of the magazine.

To celebrate the launch CALM will be 'taking over' TOPMAN Oxford Street this Friday 25th November. There will be all manner of Dj's 'battling' throughout that day using their own personal musical records. You can see all the details HERE.

...and they will, by all accounts, on the day, be wearing Tshirts also designed by me which should be available in the not too distant future.

Here's the Illustration I did to accompany the Lazy Gramophone interview in the latest edition of Rooms Magazine.

You can check out the web version HERE but it also exists in the real world at various outlets. It looks like it's gonna a be a nice little collaboration between Lazy G and Rooms so might be something to keep an eye on....

...and while we're at it why not check out Lazy G if you've not done so lately; loads of amazing stuff on there.

Had a great time last weekend; pretty crazy and blinking loads of people. A bit short on the 'Art' and long on the 'festival' this year but good fun none the less and we had a good bash at flying the flag for Art at The Framing Workshop, with the very brilliant wanking puppets (yes) by Joshua Raffell very much setting the tone! This the wall I had up, which is still up as it happens, so if you in the area you can have a look for yourself.

Well it's been a while since I've exhibited but now, being a resident of 'The Wick' and with the annual open studio festival approaching, I thought it might be nice to put up some of my work.

I'll be showing some old pieces as well as some of these newer newsprint ones. I'm gonna be amongst some other great stuff in:

The Framing Workshop
12 Felstead Street
Hackney Wick
E9 5LG

July 29th, 30th and 31st

Full details of all the Hackney WickED gallery spaces can be found HERE (we're the second one down there). Plus you can find out about all the other crazy stuff that's going on over that weekend there too. So if you'd like to pop along, you can find Hackney Wick hanging off the east end of the Overground service or buses 488, 388, 276, 236, 30 and 26 get you there too, look.

Science Fiction 07/06/2011

Spent a lovely afternoon in the British Library and as a result here is my little homage to their Sci-Fi exhibition which is pretty cool. The exhibition I mean. You can be the judge of the homage.

Here's the my poster design for the very brilliant British Indie film "Dead Cat" by Sam Bern and Stefan Georgiou. Coming soon to  a screen near you. You can follow the progress of the film at deadcatfilm.com or on Twitter @DeadCatUK or Facebook DeadCatFilm.

I thought it might be nice to see the words that have been used to accompany some of my Illustrations, and vice versa. This one started with this piece "Jetty" and ended with this nice poem by Sam Rawlings.

The Morning Harbours Silences

The morning harbours silences cracked as bark
and so dawn’s gristled talons depart.

Shell and splinters,
a massacre upon the marsh, as if puddles of rust yet still
they lift, the clouds, those shadows that veil our sun,
miraculous as footsteps each drawn against the last...

...trussed, we gasp,
mouths halos within the dark.

Starting a blog as you can see. I shall more than likely use this space to put any updates, new pieces, that sort of thing. I'll also probbly upload a few old things that might be of interest and maybe just things that interest me. Anyway here is where to come should you wish to find out generally what I've been up to lately.
